IPL 2026: Gujarat Titans assistant coach Vijay Dahiya praised Virat Kohli and said that the former Indian captain’s dedication, discipline and desire to constantly improve himself makes him different from other players. In IPL, RCB batsman Virat Kohli scored a brilliant 81 runs in 44 balls, due to which his team defeated Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets. He was also chosen ‘Player of the Match’ for this brilliant innings.

After the match, Vijay Dahiya told reporters, “Even after the match he was saying that he could have converted it into a century. This shows his mentality.” He told that Virat always thinks about improving his innings, even if he has helped the team win. “When you control the match situation, then you can force the bowlers to bowl as per your wish. It was not easy to play on this wicket, but they made it look easy. I think it is amazing,” Dahiya said.
He also said that Virat did not play this innings against any ordinary bowling attack, but in front of world class bowlers. Despite this, the confidence and control with which he batted shows his greatness. Vijay Dahiya further said, “His will to do well, his mentality sets him apart from others. He is still adept at stealing runs at pace and keeps motivating the young players to take extra runs.”
He stressed that Virat is not playing to prove anything to anyone, rather his focus is always on improving himself. “It’s about looking at one’s own performance. It’s the mindset of a player who every day tries to be better than yesterday,” Dahiya said.
