New record leaving Shoaib Malik behind
Before this match, Virat Kohli had a total of 13,543 runs in his T20 career, while Pakistan’s experienced player Shoaib Malik had 13,571 runs in his name. Virat left Shoaib Malik behind by scoring just 29 runs and achieved a new position among the highest run scorers in T20.
Virat’s statistics show his greatness
This match was Virat’s 415th T20 match. So far, he has scored 13,612 runs in 398 innings, his average is 42.12. Virat also has 9 centuries and 106 half-centuries in his name.
On the other hand, Shoaib Malik made his T20 debut in 2005 and scored 13,571 runs in 557 matches while playing till 2025. His average was 35.99, and he played 83 half-century innings.
Virat’s place in the list of top run scorers in T20
Chris Gayle has the highest number of runs in T20 cricket so far. Gayle scored 14,562 runs in 463 matches. Kohli has now reached sixth place in the list of players who have scored the most runs in T20.
