New Delhi 26 December 2025: Virat Kohli broke the record of Australian legend Virat Kohli is currently in great form. After scoring a century against South Africa, his bat is also making waves in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Against Gujarat, he broke the record of Australian greats.

Virat Kohli, considered one of the great batsmen of the present era, is currently playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kohli, playing for Delhi, scored a brilliant 77 runs against Gujarat on Friday. Bevan retired from cricket in 2007. Even then his record remained unbroken. However, almost two decades later, Kohli’s son has broken his record.

Kohli is often compared with Sachin Tendulkar. This is because of his run-scoring pace. His recent records have shown that Kohli is one of the most successful batsmen in world cricket. After scoring a brilliant century against Andhra Pradesh, Kohli scored 77 runs in 61 balls against Gujarat at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. In that match, Kohli had scored 131 runs in 101 balls with the help of 14 fours and three sixes.

Now he plays only ODI

In 2024, when India won the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Kohli announced his retirement from T20 cricket after some time. In May that year, Kohli also retired from Test cricket. He plays only ODI now. Recently, in the ODI series played against South Africa, Kohli scored two consecutive centuries.
