Virat Kohli captures Orange Cap: Apart from Clason-Patidar, Ishan Kishan-Vaibhav Suryavanshi included in the list, know whose name is in the race for Purple Cap

Bengaluru. Virat Kohli topped the list of run-scorers in IPL and won the Orange Cap. He scored 49 runs off 34 balls against Lucknow Super Giants and helped Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) chase down the target of 147 runs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Making his debut as an impact player, Kohli scored the most runs for RCB and took his total runs this season to 228.

Sunrisers Hyderabad wicketkeeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen is in second place with 224 runs. This was the first time that RCB used Kohli as an impact player. The team chose to bowl first and he was not part of the playing XI. Earlier, he had also remained out of the field in the match against Mumbai Indians.

Kohli told that he had pain in his knee in that match and he was not completely fit even before Wednesday’s match. Rajat Patidar moved up to third position after scoring 27 runs in 13 balls against LSG on Wednesday. Apart from Kohli, Clausen and Patidar, Ishan Kishan and Vaibhav Suryavanshi are the only batsmen who have more than 200 runs this season.
