Virat Kohli made a new record, completed 9000 test runs

Virat Kohli: On Friday, during the first Test match being played against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli achieved another big feat by completing 9000 Test runs. He achieved this feat while batting at number 3 in India's second innings.

After reaching this milestone, Kohli has joined the great batsmen of Indian cricket. This achievement is special for Kohli because he was batting at number 3 after eight years. Despite poor performance in the first innings, Kohli made a strong comeback and scored a half-century and with this he touched the mark of 9000 Test runs.

Fourth Indian to score 9000 test runs

Virat Kohli has become the fourth Indian batsman to score 9000 runs in Test cricket. Before him, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sunil Gavaskar had achieved this feat. However, Kohli is the slowest Indian batsman to reach this milestone. He touched this figure in 197 innings, after completing 8000 runs in 169 innings in 2022, he was out 28 times.

MS Dhoni's cap record broken

Virat Kohli made another achievement in his name in this match. He surpassed MS Dhoni's 535 caps for India in Bengaluru and now becomes India's second most capped player after Sachin Tendulkar (664).
