Overview:
India are set to host Afghanistan for an important assignment comprising one Test and three one-day internationals.
India will compete against top teams in 2026, with the ICC T20 World Cup being the most important tournament. The Men in Blue are the defending champions, having won the trophy in 2024. The sub-continent nation will also take on New Zealand, England and series. The dates and venues of some of the series are still awaiting match itineraries from boards. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will continue to represent India in ODIs.

January 2026: New Zealand in India (3 ODIs + 5 T20Is)
India will play eight white-ball matches against New Zealand at home.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup starts from February 7 to March 8, with the matches scheduled to be played in India and Sri Lanka.
March 26 – May 31, 2026: Indian Premier League 2026
The IPL 2026 will be conducted from March 26 to May 31, with Indian players representing different franchises.
June 2026: Afghanistan tour of India (1 Test + 3 ODIs; dates TBA)

India’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh was postponed last year and shifted to September 2026. The Men in Blue will play three ODIs and three T20Is.
September–October 2026: Afghanistan (3 T20Is) and West Indies tour of India (3 ODIs + 5 T20Is; dates TBA)
India have a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan and a home white-ball assignment against West Indies.
Sep 19 – Oct 4, 2026: Asian Games in Japan
Cricket is expected be included in the Asian Games in T20 format.
October–November 2026: India in New Zealand (2 Tests, 3 ODIs, 5 T20Is; dates TBA)
India will play all-format matches in New Zealand.
December 2026 — Sri Lanka tour of India (3 ODIs, 3 T20Is; dates TBA)
India’s last series in 2026 will be against Sri Lanka at home.
