In a recent announcement, the DDCA has made known the Delhi team for the Dothi Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26. The core members of the selection committee convened on Friday, December 19, to finalize the squad, and they have named Rishabh Pant as the captain of the team for the tournament.

The team declared is just for the first two games of the competition as Delhi want to recover from the bad performances in the Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournaments.

The current Indian team management, led by head coach Gautam Gambhir, wants the entire ODI squad to be present at the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the fitness of the next ODIs against New Zealand in the following month. The Kiwis are set to visit India next month for a white-ball tour, and the team members have been asked to play in the domestic competition.
In the run-up to the South African ODIs, Kohli received a directive to play in the structure of the competition, and although the Indian hitter proved his detractors wrong by scoring two centuries in the series, he still had to yield to Gambhir’s orders and the great batsman would be playing at least two Vijay Hazare tournament matches.
