Virat Kohli: A new debate has erupted in the Indian cricket world regarding Virat Kohli’s retirement from Test cricket and his current form. Former cricketer Manoj Tiwari has completely rejected Sanjay Manjrekar’s claim that Kohli has left the ‘difficult format’ to play the ‘easy format’. Tiwari believes that Kohli was “forced” to leave the Test team.

“Was forced” – Tiwari’s big claim

Sanjay Manjrekar had recently commented that in order to score more runs, Kohli left the difficult format like Test and chose ‘easy format’ like ODI. On this, Manoj Tiwari said, “I do not agree with him (Manjrekar). He was forced. Such an environment was created that he had to say goodbye to the Test.”

Tiwari further raised the question, “Even though the decision came out of his mouth, everyone knows what happened behind the scenes. After knowing everything, how can you say that he left the difficult format just for the sake of runs?”

Kohli’s ‘one man show’ in ODI

While the controversy over his Test retirement continues, Virat Kohli has given a befitting reply with his bat in the ODI series. In the recently concluded series against New Zealand, Kohli once again proved that his class is still intact. Kohli played a stormy innings of 124 runs in 108 balls. While chasing the huge target of 338 runs, Kohli held one end. His innings was a mixture of brilliant cover drives and pull shots. As soon as Kohli was out, the Indian innings faltered and the team was reduced to 296 runs in 46 overs.
