Virat Kohli follows a strict diet and fitness routine and there is no surprise about it. Here is what the former Indian skipper prefers in his diet routine.

Virat Kohli is nothing short than a living legend for his fans. He is not just an extremely talented player, but serves an inspiration to many when it comes fitness and dedication. King Kohli, a moniker that is bestowed to him by his fans, his known to follow a strict diet and fitness regime and there is no surprise there. Virat Kohli turned 36 this year and stays fit and fabulous. In several media interaction, interviews he has revealed about his meal times, fitness routine and more. Did you know that he does not eat a lot of curries?

Virat Kohli’s Diet Routine

In one of his interviews with Sports Star, he shared that, “90 percent of my food is all steamed, boiled. No masala. Only salt, pepper, and lime; that’s how I eat. I am not a big fanatic about the taste of food, I don’t care about the taste. Salads, I enjoy with a bit of dressing. Pan-grilled is good with a bit of olive oil or whatever. No curries; I only eat dal (lentils), but no masala curries. I do, however, eat rajma and lobia (black-eyed pea); as a Punjabi can’t skip them.” He explained how he avoid fried food and dishes with a lot of  spice in it. It helps with better digestion.

According to several media reports, Kohli’s meals include veggies, spinach, quinoa. He occasionally enjoys dosa and otherwise keeps it simple with steamed food peppered with salt, pepper and lime.

Virat Kohli’s Biggest Challenge in Fitness

Maintaining a toned and fit body like Kohli is no cakewalk. His unwavering commitment to fitness is commendable. Fitness requires a lot of dedication and consistency. Kosli also explained during his interaction that how when it comes to food, one needs to have a proper balance of nutrition -vitamins,  proteins, fibre etc. He said, “The biggest challenge that I felt in terms of fitness is food. Because everyone can go to the gym and work hard. But with food, it is different because you have tastebuds. It is linked to your mind wanting something and not wanting something. You have to persevere there; it is something I figured out quite early. I can eat the same thing for the next 6 months, 3 times a day. I have no issues at all.”

Back in 2018, the Delhi boy suffered from several health issues and eventually became a vegetarian.
