French President Emmanuel Macron has announced to simplify the visa process for Indian students and increase the number of courses taught in English. He made this announcement on Wednesday at a high-level academic and scientific meeting organized on the future of India-France cooperation.

During the meeting held in New Delhi, Macron reiterated France’s resolve to strengthen relations with India in the field of education and increase student mobility between the two countries.

Let us tell you, Macron said, “We want to welcome more Indian students and also bring more French students to France. Right now we are talking about 10,000 students annually, but we plan with Prime Minister Modi to increase this number to 30,000 annually by 2030. We will simplify the visa process for this.”

At the same time, Macron also said that Indian students will get access to the world’s best education and research centers for studying in France. He informed that France will now offer many academic programs in English for Indian students. Their aim is to make the education experience more accessible and practical, so as to meet the expectations of the students.

Let us tell you, during his visit, Macron, along with Indian Minister JP Nadda, also inaugurated an Indo-French AI Research Campus at the AIIMS campus. This initiative will further strengthen India-France cooperation in healthcare solutions based on Artificial Intelligence.

“We will create better connections to support students more effectively. We will ensure that Indian students coming to France have access to our world-class teaching and research centres, where interdisciplinary collaboration will be strengthened,” Macron told the students.

This Indo-French AI Campus at AIIMS is an important step to promote research, innovation and capacity building in AI for global health. It will also foster deeper academic excellence and international partnerships between the two countries.
