Vitamin D Myth: Vitamin D is obtained from lukewarm morning sunlight? Nutritionist broke years old misconception, know what is the truth

News India Live, Digital Desk: We have been hearing since childhood that the body gets plenty of Vitamin D by sitting in sunlight early in the morning. But do you know that this is not completely true? Recently, nutritionists have termed this notion a ‘myth’. If you too are considering your bones strong on the basis of light morning sunlight, then this news may be shocking for you. Why is there not enough morning sunlight? According to nutritionists, UVB rays of the sun are required for the synthesis of Vitamin-D. Game of time: In the early morning sunlight (at the time of sunrise), UVB rays are very less and UVA rays are more, which can be harmful for the skin but do not help in making Vitamin-D. Real time: Experts believe that the most effective time for vitamin D is between 11 am and 2 pm, when the sun is directly overhead and UVB rays are at their peak. Just 15 minutes is all you need to increase bone strength and immunity. You do not need to spend hours in the sun. Short duration: Sit in the afternoon sun for only 10 to 15 minutes, rather than 1 hour in the morning sun. It is more beneficial. Caution: There is a risk of sunburn if there is too much exposure to strong afternoon sun, so take sunlight in short breaks. Symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency: If you are not able to get enough sunlight, then the body can give these signs: Feeling tired and weak all the time. Constant pain in bones and joints. Hair fall and delay in wound healing.
