Vladimir Putin reached Rashtrapati Bhavan for dinner, know when he will leave for Moscow

New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin’s two-day visit to India is a symbol of strengthening bilateral relations. This is Putin’s first visit to India after the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, which is taking place on the occasion of completion of 25 years of India-Russia strategic partnership.

President Putin has now reached Rashtrapati Bhavan for a banquet on the second day of his visit. Here he will have dinner with all the leaders and then leave for Moscow at 9:30 pm.

President Murmu hosted a state banquet in Putin’s honor at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7 pm. Many leaders of both the countries were present on this occasion. Giving a hearty welcome to Putin, Murmu said that India-Russia friendship is an example of peace and prosperity. After the banquet, Putin will leave for Moscow at 9:30 pm.

Grand welcome for Putin and bilateral discussions

Upon reaching Delhi on December 4, Prime Minister Modi personally welcomed Putin at Palam Airport. Both the leaders traveled in the same car, which was a symbol of mutual closeness.

PM Modi hosted a private dinner in Putin’s honor at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg in the evening, where informal talks took place on bilateral issues. PM Modi presented Putin a copy of Bhagavad Gita translated into Russian language, which is a symbol of Indian culture that inspires millions of people.

Guard of honor given to Putin

Putin was formally welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the morning of 5 December. Guard of Honor was given in the presence of President Draupadi Murmu and PM Modi. After this, detailed talks took place between the two leaders in the 23rd India-Russia Summit at Hyderabad House.

The focus of the discussion was on defence, energy, trade and technology. Putin went to Rajghat and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, which was a salute to India’s legacy of non-violence. Putin said in the joint press conference, "The warm welcome of Indian President Murmu, Prime Minister Modi and all Indian colleagues is commendable."

Strong partnership from defense to energy

During this visit, 16 agreements were signed, which are the blueprint for strengthening India-Russia relations by 2030. These include marine and polar water training, fertilizer industry cooperation, healthcare, medical education and food security.

In the defense sector, progress was made on the S-400 missile system and the nuclear submarine deal, while in the energy sector there was assurance of continued supply of crude oil from Russia. ‘Vision 2030’ program was adopted to reach the trade target of 100 billion dollars.
