New Electric Scooter enters India, know what are the amazing features of Velocifero Tennis
Obnews Tech Desk: A new name has joined the electric scooter market, Velocifero Tennis (VLF Tennis), which is now available in India. The starting price of this scooter has been kept at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Velocifero, an Italian two-wheeler brand, has entered India through KAW Veloce Motors. KAW Veloce Motors will now sell brands like VLF and Brixton through its MotoHaus outlets across the country.
Manufacturing and availability
The Velocifero Tennis will be assembled in India at KAW Veloce Motors' Kolhapur facility, which has an annual production capacity of 20,000 units. The deliveries of this scooter will start from November 25 and the company aims to open outlets in major Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities of India. It will soon be made available in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Goa, Chennai, Jaipur and Ahmedabad. By mid-2025, the company is expected to have 20 dealerships operational.
Specifications and features
The Velocifero Tennis weighs only 88 kg, and runs on 12-inch wheels. Furthermore, it has a ground clearance of 140 mm with an aluminum swing arm and a seat height of 780 mm. For suspension, it has been provided with telescopic fork and cantilevered monoshock, while both the wheels have disc brakes. However, due to its compact size its underseat storage can only accommodate a half-face helmet.
Battery and range
The Velocifero Tennis has a 2.5 kWh removable battery, which according to the company offers a range of up to 130 kilometers (IDC). It has a 1.5 kW hub motor, which can propel the scooter to a top speed of 65 km/h. The gradeability is 18 degrees and the operating temperature range of the scooter is between -5°C to 45°C.
Charging and other features
The company also provides a 720-watt charger with this scooter, which can fully charge the scooter in about three hours. The scooter also has LED lights and a 5-inch color TFT dashboard, which makes it even more attractive.
compete with
While the Velocifero Tennis is priced at ₹1.30 lakh, it is costlier than leading electric scooters like Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Vida V1 and Ather Rizta, which have larger battery capacities.
