Volkswagen Tayron R-Line ready for India launch – 7-seater luxury SUV, boasting CKD production and premium features
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line – The Indian SUV market is now increasingly moving towards premiums and larger sizes. Understanding this changing trend, Volkswagen India has lifted the curtain from its new flagship SUV Volkswagen Tayron R-Line. This SUV will launch in India in the first quarter of 2026 and more importantly, it will be Volkswagen’s only 7-seater SUV in India. The Tayron R-Line will emerge as the company’s new family and lifestyle SUV after the Tiguan Allspace is contested.

CKD Route
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line will be brought to India via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route and its local assembly will be at the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant. The direct advantage of this would be that the quality of the SUV will remain at the international level, but the price may be more balanced than the fully imported models.
design
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line can be seen as a larger and more premium avatar of Tiguan. It has a length of about 4.8 meters and a wheelbase of 2,789 mm makes it extremely special from the inside. The design of the SUV is bold and muscular, with a clear glimpse of the sporty identity of the R-Line.
The front and rear are provided with sleek LED headlamps and taillamps, which add a connected light strip. The 19-inch alloy wheels that accompany it give the Tayron R-Line a premium and strong stance. This SUV on the road does not look lighter than any angle, but fully realizes a flagship model.
Premium Interior
The interior of the Tayron R-Line is designed keeping in mind those who want to enjoy luxury with driving. Its cabin has a 15-inch large touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital cockpit and head-up display, which shows the driver without necessarily distracting information.
Good legroom and headroom are expected for those sitting in all three cries. Varenna leather upholstery is provided on the front seats, which feature features such as ventilation and massage function. The cabin feels more open and airy due to the upstairs panoramic sunroof, which does not make the long journey too tedious.

Powerful Engine
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line will be offered in India with a 2.0-liter TSI turbo petrol engine. This engine generates 204 PS power and 320 Nm torque. This will be accompanied by a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.
This means that the Tayron R-Line will not be limited to just city streets, but will also run with confidence on highways and light off-road paths. This combination of performance and stability makes it an all-rounder SUV.

competition
