Battery and charging: 20 minutes of play

The biggest feature of Volvo EX60 is its charging speed. Due to its 800-volt architecture, this car supports 400kW DC fast charger. The company claims that its battery gets charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 19 to 20 minutes. It also has 22kW AC charging support for charging at home.

“The EX60 is designed to eliminate range and charging concerns. It is our most advanced electric car yet.”
—Anders Bell, Chief Technology Officer, Volvo Cars

There will be direct competition with these giants

Volvo EX60 will compete mainly with BMW iX3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC EV in the market. While BMW is known for its driving dynamics, Volvo has made safety and long range its weapon. With a range of 503 miles (about 810 km), the EX60 beats the BMW iX3 (805 km) on paper.

When will it enter India?

There is no official confirmation regarding its launch in India yet, but experts believe that it may be seen on Indian roads by 2027. Currently, Volvo is set to launch its flagship EX90 SUV and ES90 sedan in India by the third quarter of 2026.

Analysis: Will the market mathematics change?

The Volvo EX60 is not just a new car, but a major breakthrough in EV technology. Due to mega-casting technology and cell-to-body battery integration, its manufacturing cost has reduced, which can be benefited by customers. If Volvo launches it in India at the right price, it could prove to be a game-changer in the luxury segment.
