Know the wonders of the new 5G calling technology – Obnews

Reliance Jio has confirmed the launch of VoNR (Voice over New Radio) technology for its 5G customers. This is an advanced calling technology, which is based on 5G network. Currently, Reliance Jio is the only telecom company in the country which is providing 5G VoNR service.

Airtel has not yet deployed a 5G standalone (SA) network and is likely to introduce it by 2025. In such a situation, if you want to experience a service like VoNR calling, then Jio is your only option at present.

VoNR vs VoLTE: Big change in calling
VoLTE (Voice over LTE): It is 4G network based calling technology.
VoNR (Voice over New Radio): This is the technology of 5G network.
With the help of VoNR the call experience becomes even better. This technology is based on the high data capacity of 5G, providing high quality and clarity. In contrast, VoLTE only runs on 4G networks.

VoNR deployment in the country
Since Vodafone Idea is also working on 5G NSA (Non-Standalone) network, it will not be able to provide VoNR service to its customers.
Currently, Jio's VoNR service is available in Delhi and Mumbai. It may soon be made available in other parts of the country also.
Jio 5G SA services: free offers
Reliance Jio is making its 5G Standalone (SA) services available for free. This offer is for those customers who recharge with 2GB per day data plan or more.

Jio and Airtel preparations
