Voting in Bengal on 23rd and 29th April, result on 4th May, code of conduct implemented

Kolkata. The Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections to be held in West Bengal. On Sunday (March 15), Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar gave information about the election program during a press conference. Voting will be held on all 294 assembly seats in the state. According to the Commission, this time the elections will be held in two phases and the counting of votes will be done on May 4.

Voting will take place in two phases

According to the Election Commission, the first phase of voting in West Bengal will be held on April 23, while the second phase of voting will be held on April 29. In the first phase, voters will exercise their franchise on 152 seats, while in the second phase, voting will be held on 142 seats. The election results will be declared on May 4 after both phases of voting.

Code of conduct implemented in the state

As soon as the election schedule is announced, the Model Code of Conduct has been implemented in West Bengal with immediate effect. The Commission said that important tasks like review of election preparations, finalization of voter list and assessment of security arrangements have been completed. Central security forces will also be deployed in many areas to make the voting process peaceful and fair.

Assembly tenure will end on May 7

The current term of the West Bengal Assembly ends on May 7. In such a situation, the election process for the formation of the new government will be completed on time. This time also the contest in state politics is being considered very interesting.
