Vozinha goes from 50k to 1.7 million Instagram followers in one night after stopping Spain at FIFA World Cup 2026
Cabo Verde goalkeeper Voice — real name Josimar Dias — has gained over 1.7 million Instagram followers in the minutes following the final whistle of Cabo Verde’s historic 0-0 draw with Spain at the FIFA World Cup 2026 on Monday.
The 40-year-old had approximately 50,000 followers before kickoff at Atlanta Stadium. By the time the match ended, his verified Instagram account (@vozinha1) had surged to 1.7 million — a gain of over 1.55 million followers in under two hours, as captured in a screenshot taken immediately after the final whistle.
The overnight fame is entirely deserved. Vozinha produced one of the great individual goalkeeping performances in recent World Cup history — making 7 saveskeeping a clean sheet against a Spain side that registered 23 shots and 8 on target, and earning the Man of the Match award in the process. European champions Spain, with 74% possession and 764 passes completed, could not find a way past him.
His Instagram bio reads: “Never forget who you are and where you came from” — Portuguese for “Never forget who you are and where you came from.” Tonight, the world found out exactly where Vozinha came from — and will not be forgetting him any time soon.
