VVIP culture will end on Republic Day 2026

Republic Day 2026: This time many big and historic changes have been made regarding Republic Day 2026. Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh told in the press conference that this time the VVIP culture on the line of duty has been completely abolished. This means that now there will be no special and general difference in the seating arrangement of the spectators. The aim of the government is that the celebration of Republic Day should become a “people’s festival” and not be limited to only selected people.

Blocks will now be identified by the names of rivers, not numbers

This time, for the first time, the seating blocks built on the parade route will not be identified by numbers. These blocks are named after the major rivers of the country. There will be visitor galleries named after rivers like Yamuna, Ganga, Brahmaputra, Narmada, Godavari, Krishna, Kaveri, Indus, Sutlej, Chambal, Ghaghra, Mahanadi, Periyar and Vaigai. Its purpose is to honor the cultural and natural heritage of the country.

Free travel facility in metro
