In such a situation, Makhana is such a ‘superfood’ which not only keeps the stomach full for a long time, but is also rich in nutrients. Ingredients:

Fox Nut: 2 cups (fool Makhana)

Groundnut: ½ cup (roasted)

Ghee: 1 tablespoon

Rock Salt: As per taste (fasting salt)

freshly ground black pepper: half teaspoon

Chopped Coriander: 2 tbsp

Lemon Juice: 1 tablespoon

Finely chopped green chillies: 1-2 (as per taste)

Boiled Potatoes: 1 medium (finely chopped – optional)

Method:

Fry Makhane: Heat some ghee in a pan and fry the makhanas on low flame till they become crisp. Remember, the crispier the makhana, the better the taste of the chaat.

Prepare the mixture: In a large mixing bowl, add roasted makhana, roasted peanuts and boiled potato pieces.

Mix spices: Now add rock salt, black pepper powder and finely chopped green chillies.

Final Touch: Add fresh coriander and lemon juice on top and mix well. Your hot and spicy Makhana Chaat is ready.
