The crossovers between various characters in the YRF Spy Universe have kept fans engaged. One of the most eagerly awaited movies is War 2, the next entry in the series. Kiara Advani, Jr. NTR, and Hrithik Roshan play the main parts. Shah Rukh Khan is preparing to appear in the movie as Pathaan, if recent rumors are to be believed.
Dainik Bhaskar claims that Shah Rukh Khan would appear in the next film, War 2. The actor will appear in the post-credit scene as his character Pathaan, according to the portal’s sources.
Aditya Chopra is the producer and Ayan Mukerji is the director of War 2. On August 14, 2025, the film is expected to be released in theaters. Pinkvilla has been providing unique information about the movie’s production. We previously disclosed that Jr. NTR and Hrithik Roshan are getting ready to film the climax in November 2024.
A source associated with the update shared, “The pre-production is on at YRF to design the biggest climax block of all time featuring two of the biggest superstars – Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. While a part of the climax will be shot in Mumbai, a part of it shifts to another undisclosed location.”
A source added, “Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan is definitely a character that has resonated with the audiences, and there is a constant on-ground demand from the audience to see more of SRK in the spy avatar. Soon after the release in January 2023, Adi and SRK had decided to spin Pathaan into a standalone franchise too within the Spy Universe, and the former started ideating the sequel of this all-time blockbuster.”
Next year will see the release of another YRF Spy Universe movie in addition to War 2. On December 25, 2025, Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, is scheduled to be released. According to a Pinkvilla report Shah Rukh Khan is scheduled to star in Pathaan 2.
