War looming heavy: Drone attack in Oman, 2 Indians killed; 10 injured
Iran launched a drone attack on Oman on Friday. Two Indians have lost their lives in this. 10 other Indians are injured and are undergoing treatment in the hospital. However, none of them is seriously injured. Al Jazeera quoted Oman’s government news agency as saying that this drone attack took place in an industrial area located in Sohar province of Oman. Two foreign nationals lost their lives after being hit by drone debris. Many others are injured.
At the inter-ministerial briefing, Additional Secretary (Gulf) Asim Mahajan on Friday confirmed that both the citizens who lost their lives in Oman were Indians. He said that I want to share with you all an incident that happened today in Sohar city of Muscat. Two Indian citizens have lost their lives in an attack there. We express our deepest condolences to their families. Of the 11 injured, 10 are Indians. Five injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital. No one has been seriously injured. Our mission is to remain in touch with the company and local authorities and provide all possible assistance.

Four days ago, on March 9, a ship named ‘Sefsi Vishnu’ was attacked near Basra Port in Iraq. An Indian citizen had lost his life. Aseem Mahajan said that 15 crew members have been evacuated safely. Everyone is staying in a hotel in Basra. Efforts are underway to bring back the bodies of the killed SEFC sailors. Our mission team is in Basra and is providing all kinds of help.

Three Indians killed in attacks on ships
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, one Indian died in the attack on MKD Vyom ship. After this, another Indian citizen lost his life in the merchant vessel skylight attack. An Indian citizen is currently missing. The third Indian died in the attack on a ship named ‘Safe Sea Vishnu’ off the coast of Iraq. Amidst the tension spreading in West Asia, India is busy evacuating its citizens from Iran.
