Warriors finally get good news about LeBron James’ free-agency sweepstakes
The Golden State Warriors have been tied to a move for LeBron James for a while now.
Nevertheless, it looked like they had been ceding ground to other teams over the past week or so.
With the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and even Philadelphia 76ers reportedly gaining steam in the race, it seemed that the Warriors were no longer near the top of his list.
That’s why Warriors fans will love to hear Jake Fischer’s latest report, as it looks like they’re still in the race.
The Warriors are still in the race to sign LeBron James
“I also think that there’s been a kind of roller coaster experience on the Golden State piece of all this, where the Warriors seemed to be like the front-runner at one point in time, and then it seemed like the Warriors were very much not the front-runner,” Fischer said. “I do think the Warriors are still as involved as any team. I want to say that too.”
Draymond Green and Stephen Curry have made their respective recruiting pitches, and James is more than aware of the Warriors’ culture and what he can get in the Bay Area.
Of course, they’re no longer the team to beat or have the youngest squad among contenders, and some may feel like teaming up with the same guy who beat him three times in the NBA Finals may hurt his legacy.
Whatever the case, it will most likely be a while before the four-time NBA champion makes any decisions or announcements.
