Nagarjuna was offered the role of Rahman dacoit? South Star breaks silence; Said- I wanted to do

His character was so powerful and memorable that even today people never get tired of praising him. There was a lot of discussion on the internet after the release of the film, and recently a rumor spread that this role was first offered to South superstar Nagarjuna, but he refused.

Now Nagarjuna himself has broken his silence on this rumour. He is currently holidaying abroad. While talking to Bollywood Hungama, he clearly said that this is not the case at all. He told, ‘No sir, I was not offered this role. Yes, I wish I would have got this role!” Nagarjuna praised the film a lot. He said that ‘Dhurandhar’ is a great film.

How was Akshay’s casting?

Aditya Dhar’s direction is amazing. He also liked Aditya’s previous film Uri very much. All the actors have done a tremendous job in the entire film, and Akshay Khanna was really amazing. Nagarjuna expressed his expectation of the sequel and wished the entire team for another big hit film. Nagarjuna is currently shooting his 100th film. Talking about this, he said that he is not in a hurry in anything. Want to make the film very special and perfect. After the success of ‘Dhurandhar’, now the audience wants to see international level stories, and they are working in the same direction.

What did Mukesh Chhabra tell?

On the other hand, it was also revealed that Akshay Khanna had some difficulty in getting this role initially. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra told in an interview to India Today that when he suggested Akshay Khanna’s name for Rahman the dacoit, director Aditya Dhar and the team were a little suspicious. He felt that perhaps this was too ambitious a thought. But Mukesh Chhabra was confident that Akshay was absolutely fit for this role.

What did the actor say after hearing the script?

Mukesh told that when he spoke to Akshay Khanna on phone for the first time, the beginning was not good. Akshay first scolded him and said, ‘Have you gone mad?’ Because at that time Akshay had not even seen the film ‘Chhaava’. But Mukesh did not give up, he just said that you must listen to the script once and then refuse. Finally Akshay agreed and listened to the script. His first reaction upon hearing was – “F**k, this is very good! It will be a lot of fun.” From here the matter progressed and Akshay accepted this role. Seeing his performance today everyone believes how right this decision was. Now talking about Dhurandhar 2, the sequel has been announced at the end of the first film. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ will be released on 19 March 2026. This film will compete with Yash’s film Toxic at the box office, because both are going to release on the same day i.e. 19th March.
