Washington Sundar added to India’s Test squad  – Tezzbuzz

Bengaluru, Oct 21: Allrounder Washington Sundar has been included in India’s squad for the second and third Test matches against New Zealand. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Sundar’s addition on Sunday, ahead of the second Test set to take place in Pune.

“Mr. Washington Sundar will link up with the squad in Pune ahead of the second Test,” a BCCI release confirmed.

Sundar, who is currently representing Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy, impressed with his performance in the ongoing match against Delhi. He scored an impressive 152 runs in the first innings and also took two wickets, showcasing his all-round abilities ahead of joining the national team.

India’s updated squad for the remaining two Tests against New Zealand includes captain Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah, alongside other prominent players like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Ravichandran Ashwin. The inclusion of Washington Sundar provides India with another all-round option as they seek to strengthen their lineup for the crucial matches.

The updated squad for India's second and third Test against New Zealand includes Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK ), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Akash Deep, and Washington Sundar.
