IND vs ENG: Washington Sundar out, BCCI announces replacement, 23 year old player gets a chance
Indian cricket team’s star all-rounder Washington Sundar is out of the series due to injury. In the first ODI, he played an important role in India’s victory by scoring a brilliant half-century. However, he suffered an injury to his right hamstring while batting during the second ODI. Due to injury, he could not even field on the field during England’s innings. In place of Sundar, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has included left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Harsh Dubey in the team. 23 year old Harsh has played ODI cricket for India before also. He impressed with his bowling by taking four wickets in two ODI matches against Afghanistan. However, he has not yet got a chance to bat in international cricket. Now he may get another opportunity to showcase his talent at Lord’s.
BCCI gave information on injury
BCCI informed through social media that Washington Sundar had suffered an injury to his right hamstring during the second ODI. According to the board, he will undergo a scan for further investigation and consult a specialist doctor. The decision regarding his return will be taken only after the medical report comes. In such a situation, the Indian team may feel the lack of experience in the decisive match. Some changes may also be seen in the playing XI in the third ODI.
India’s team for the third ODI has now become like this. Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer (vice-captain), KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Shivam Dubey, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Gurnoor Brar, Prince Yadav and Harsh Dubey have been included. Now all eyes will be on how well Harsh Dubey can take advantage of this opportunity.
