Ramandeep Singh takes ‘stunner catch’ to dismiss Pakistan opener in Emerging Asia Cup opener

New Delhi: Ramandeep Singh once again showcased his exceptional fielding skills with a breathtaking one-handed catch during the league stage match of the Emerging Asia Cup between India A and Pakistan A. The acrobatic fielder sprinted towards the mid-wicket boundary and executed a perfectly timed dive, demonstrating why he is regarded as one of the best fielders in the game.

Ramandeep Singh completed the catch just inches above the ground, dismissing Pakistan opener Yasir Khan for 33 runs off 22 balls. Having showcased his brilliant fielding skills during IPL 2024, Ramandeep continued to impress with his heroics in the Emerging Asia Cup, further solidifying his reputation as one of the top fielders in the game.

Dinesh Karthik praised Ramandeep Singh’s exceptional fielding effort on X, calling it one of the best he has ever seen. He exclaimed, “Wowowowwwwww That catch from RAMANDEEP SINGH has to go down as one of the greatest catches ever by an Indian Stunning Spellbound Unreal.”

Ramandeep Singh scored 17 runs off 11 balls before being dismissed. He was at the non-striker’s end when Mohamad Haris collected the ball and executed a run-out.

India A began their campaign on a high note, securing a narrow 7-run victory over Pakistan A. The defending champions struggled with consistent wickets, preventing any of their batters from establishing a solid partnership to chase down the target. Arafat Minhas was the standout performer for Pakistan A, scoring 41 runs off 29 balls.

India A appeared poised to surpass the 200-run mark at one point but suffered key wickets in the closing stages. Abhishek Sharma (35) and Prabhsimran Singh (36) laid a strong foundation, contributing 68 runs for the opening wicket in just 6.1 overs. Tilak Varma played a crucial innings, scoring 44 runs off only 25 balls, while Nehal Wadhera added 25 runs from 22 deliveries.

Anshul Kamboj showcased a standout performance, earning the Player of the Match award with his impressive three-wicket haul. Nishant Sindhu and Rasikh Dar Salam each contributed with two wickets, helping secure India’s victory. India A is set to face UAE in their next match on Monday (October 21).
