Water crisis deepens in Lohardaga, newly elected Municipal Council President Anil Oraon inspected the water supply system.

Lohardaga: The problem of water crisis is becoming serious these days in urban areas. Lakhs of the city’s population is still dependent on the years-old water supply system, due to which water shortage has started appearing as the heat increases.

Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the newly elected Chairman of the Municipal Council, Anil Oraon himself inspected the intake well and supply line located on Koel River and Shankh River. During the inspection, he became aware of the current condition of the water supply system and gave necessary directions to the concerned contractor (contractor).
The Speaker clearly said that strengthening the urban water supply system is his priority. He directed to work expeditiously for repair of pipelines, immediate identification and resolution of leakages, and cleaning and technical repair of intake wells.

According to experts, if the water of Koel and Shankha rivers is managed properly, it can meet the water supply requirement of the city for at least a month. For this, regular monitoring, ensuring the functioning of motor and pump and maintaining the distribution system is necessary. The Municipal Council Chairman said that it is his commitment to provide regular and clean drinking water to the city residents. He assured that both short-term and long-term plans will be worked out to deal with the water crisis.
