Shane Warne’s Stake in Rajasthan Royals : Before the 19th season of IPL, the owner of Rajasthan Royals, the champion of the opening season of the league, has changed. Kal Somani has acquired Rajasthan Royals for US $ 1.6 billion i.e. Rs 15286 crore. After which the name of the first captain of the franchise team and late Australian player Shane Warne is in the headlines.

According to Cricbuzz report, Kal Somani, the current shareholder of Rajasthan Royals IPL team, has bought this franchise for US $ 1.63 billion (approximately Rs 15,290 crore). After which the children of Australian legend Shane Warne, who has played all three roles of franchise player, captain and coach, can get the biggest financial benefit of his life.
Shane Warne, who made Rajasthan Royals the champion in the first season of IPL, was a part of this team from 2008 to 2011. According to reports, Warne was given a salary of $657,000 per year in these four years. Along with this, 0.75% share was also given for every year. Over the course of four years this share increased to a total of 3%. Initially it was not considered a big investment.
However, the value of Rajasthan Royals skyrocketed after IPL emerged as the richest league in the world. The franchise was valued at around $340 million in July 2021, giving Warne’s stake around $10 million. Now after the sale of the franchise at a huge price, the fate of Shane Warne’s three children is about to be revealed.
It is estimated that Warne’s 3% stake is worth around 460 crore Indian rupees, which is likely to go to his three children Brook Warne, Jackson Warne and Summer Warne. Let us tell you that Warne, one of the world’s greatest spin bowlers, died of a heart attack in 2022 at the age of 52.
