Wayanad by-election 2024 Priyanka gandhi targets BJP News In Hindi: Congress candidate Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday launched the second phase of her campaign for the by-election from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government. Attacked and alleged that the values of the Constitution are being continuously weakened under his rule.
During a street meeting held in Meenangadi, the AICC general secretary referred to the violence in Manipur and alleged that there were “planned” attacks against minorities in the country.
He alleged, “You know that the BJP government at the Center is spreading fear, anger and distress among various communities. You have seen attacks on minorities. You have seen the attacks in Manipur. You have seen time and again the systematic spread of anger, hatred and fear.

He had filed his nomination after a roadshow in Kalpetta city on October 22 along with his brother Rahul Gandhi, mother Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and state Congress leaders. This is his second visit to Wayanad after that.
He said, “There is no sympathy towards the farmers who work hard day and night. There is no understanding towards the tribal people, their lands are taken away for the rich people.
Referring to her brother Rahul Gandhi leaving the seat, she said that she (Priyanka) knows how heavy his (Rahul's) heart was when he left Wayanad.
She said, “I know you have come here out of love for my brother. He has a deep relationship with all of you, you all are his family.
Priyanka said, “Today we are fighting a very big battle and he (Rahul) is leading that battle… and we are all fighting for the values on which the country is built. We are fighting for the values of our Constitution. Today we are fighting for our democracy. Today we are fighting for equality and each of you is an important soldier in this fight.
She also said that if she is elected MP, she will work hard.
Priyanka said, “I will stand with you.” I will fight for you. I will raise your issues in Parliament. I will fight to resolve your issues.'' A small road show took place after the meeting in Meenangadi. After this, Priyanka left for the next meeting at Panamaram in Mananthavady assembly constituency at 2.30 pm. This is his second visit to the area after filing nomination on October 22.
“The people of Wayanad have in the past stood for truth, justice and democracy and worked to strengthen the spirit of the Constitution,” Priyanka posted on her 'X' account earlier in the day. The people of Wayanad will continue to strengthen the Constitution and democracy and write a new chapter of development and progress. The zeal and enthusiasm of the people is worth seeing. Meanwhile, the returning officer accepted the nomination of the Congress leader after completing the scrutiny of ballot papers on Monday. He had submitted four sets of nomination papers.
The Bharatiya Janata Party had accused Priyanka Gandhi of “not disclosing necessary information” about her and her husband Robert Vadra's assets in the affidavit submitted along with her nomination.
Congress leaders, including Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Ramesh Chennithala, gave him a warm welcome at the grounds of Nilgiri College of Arts and Science when he arrived by helicopter at 11.50 am.
He greeted party workers and students before leaving for Meenangadi by road for his first meeting.
Due to the resignation of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, by-elections have to be held on Wayanad seat. Rahul had won from both Wayanad and Rae Bareli seats of Uttar Pradesh in the general elections held this year. He later resigned from Wayanad.(pti)
