"We are fighting not just BJP but the entire government machinery.": Why did Rahul Gandhi speak in Berlin?

Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has once again raised big questions on the fairness of elections in India. While talking to students and experts in Berlin, the capital of Germany, he said many big and worrying things about India’s democracy. He said that today our fight in India is not only with a political party named BJP, but with all the government institutions which they have completely ‘captured’. ED-CBI have become weapons for the opposition. Rahul Gandhi alleged that big investigative agencies like ED and CBI are being used to intimidate opposition leaders and against them. It is being used as a weapon to register cases. He asked a direct question: “You see, how many ED and CBI cases are there against BJP leaders? The answer will be – not even one. Why are all the cases registered only against the people of the opposition?” He also claimed that if any big businessman even thinks of helping the opposition, especially the Congress, he is intimidated. ED and CBI are put behind it. Are elections being fair in India? Rahul Gandhi also raised questions on the role of the Election Commission. He said, “We are raising questions about the fairness of elections in India… but the Election Commission does not respond to our views.” Giving a shocking example of Haryana’s voter list, he said that the name of a Brazilian model was in 22 different places, which shows that there is something wrong in the electoral process. Referring to the power of money, Rahul said that BJP has many times more money than us. They get huge funds through election donations, whereas gathering resources is also a challenge for the opposition. He said, “Therefore, we as the opposition have to find new ways to fight this situation. You have to understand that we are not fighting just one party, but every institution of India which has been captured.” He also spoke on the issue of pollution and Israel. On pollution: When the question was asked on Delhi’s pollution, he gave the example of Germany. He said, “So much is made in Germany, there are so many factories, yet the air here is clean. This means that the problem of pollution can be solved with the right government policies.” On Israel-Hamas war: He gave a balanced answer on this sensitive issue. “We buy weapons to defend ourselves from many countries, including Israel, Russia and the United States. What Hamas did was absolutely wrong. But what Israel did after that was also wrong. Women and children should not have been bombed.”
