‘We are ready…’: Aamir Khan blushes, confirms he is getting married to his third gf Gauri Spratt on July 5

Congratulations are in order for Aamir Khan, the ‘Mr Perfectionist’ of Bollywood, as he is all set to enter a new phase of his love life, as he will be getting married for the third time to his ladylove, his third girlfriend, Gauri Spratt.

While reports of their wedding began circulating on Wednesday, the actor has now confirmed the news himself.

Speaking to Variety, Aamir shared, “I’m currently travelling in the US. The news about the marriage is true. It’s on July 5.”

The announcement comes just months after Aamir Khan had said that marriage was not a pressing concern in his relationship with Gauri, as they were content living together. However, the actor revealed that their feelings have evolved over time.

“Yes, that is true. But now we both feel we are ready to take our relationship to the next level,” he said. Reflecting on their bond, Aamir added, “I am at peace. Gauri and I are serious about each other, and we are in a very committed space. We are partners, we are together. In my heart, I’m already married to her. So, to formalise our togetherness just seems like a natural progression of our partnership.”

When is Aamir Khan’s wedding?

Aamir and Gauri have reportedly decided to formalise their relationship with a simple registered marriage at home, in the company of family members and a handful of close friends.

They will also not be throwing any grand reception for industry members. However, no official announcement regarding the nuptials has been made so far.

While the official guest list has not been revealed, there is speculation that Aamir Khan’s close friends from the industry, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, may attend the private ceremony depending on their availability.

Ever since making their relationship official, Gauri has been spotted with Aamir on several occasions.

Gauri Spratt has a seven-year-old son, Quinn, from a previous marriage. She also comes from a historically significant family background. Her grandfather, Philip Spratt, was a British-born Communist who came to India in the 1920s and later became associated with India’s freedom struggle.

Aamir introduced Gauri to the media on his 60th birthday in March last year.

The actor hosted a fun meet-and-greet with the media ahead of his birthday celebrations and shared that he had found love once again.

Aamir introduced his partner by giving her an adorable shoutout. He revealed that while they had been friends for around 25 years, they developed romantic feelings for each other only some time back.

The 59-year-old actor and Gauri, 47, have chosen to keep the occasion private and low-key. As per sources close to the couple, the decision to formalise their relationship was taken recently. The couple is said to be in a secure and happy space and wanted the wedding to be more about celebrating their bond than creating a public spectacle.

Aamir Khan’s past marriages

Aamir was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children — Junaid and Ira Khan. However, the two decided to go their separate ways in 2002.

Later, in 2005, Aamir married for the second time to Kiran Rao, with whom he has a son, Azad Rao Khan. Aamir and Kiran also ended up parting ways in 2021.

However, the actor has always remained cordial with both his former wives, and they are often seen spending time together.
