‘We don’t just want change, we want the best in the world…’ roared Prime Minister Modi from The Hague.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a grand program of Indian expatriates in The Hague, Netherlands. During this, tremendous enthusiasm was seen among the people present in the hall. PM Modi praised the NRI community and said emotionally that after seeing so much love and enthusiasm from you people, to be honest, for some time I even forgot that I am in the Netherlands. I absolutely feel as if some big festival is going on somewhere in India.

During the speech, PM Modi gave a small task to the people present there. He became completely silent for a few seconds and then said smilingly – ‘Just think what happened on 16th May.’ After this, PM Modi mentioned such a historical achievement of India, as soon as it was revealed, the entire hall echoed with thunderous applause and deafening slogans of ‘Modi-Modi’.

‘That historic day of 2014’ resonated in ‘The Hague’

Among his people, the Prime Minister opened the suspense of the date of May 16 in a very casual and informal manner. He said that today is May 16, and this day is very special for another reason. After this, he smiled and gave a small pause to his speech and further said that exactly 12 years ago on May 16, 2014, something very special had happened. On this day in 2014, the historic results of the Lok Sabha elections were declared, which ensured the formation of a stable and full majority government in India after decades. PM Modi said emotionally that one was that day and one is today, this unwavering faith of millions of Indians never lets me stop and never lets me get tired.

The entire auditorium echoed with thunderous applause.

According to news agency IANS, as soon as this statement came out of Prime Minister Modi’s mouth, the entire hall echoed with cheers and applause. After this, the Prime Minister narrated the story of his life’s journey and ‘Aham Se Vayam’ i.e. rising above oneself and living for the society. He said that I was imbued with the colors of patriotism at a very young age and later on you all became my family. I chose the country over myself. From then on, your happiness became my happiness and your welfare became my biggest duty.

Referring to his long political journey, the Prime Minister of India further said that he is completing 13 years of service as Chief Minister and now 12 years as Prime Minister. It is a great privilege for me to get such unwavering support from crores of voters for 25 consecutive years in the democratic world. For me, this is not just any government figure, but your blessings are the biggest asset of my life. He stressed that the real wealth of India today is its youth and its big aspirations.

Today’s India in the era of unlimited dreams and change

Referring to India’s changing global power, Prime Minister Modi said that today our India is dreaming big. Today the country is saying in clear words that we do not just want small changes or transformation, but we want the best and fastest in the world. This is the reason why in today’s India, when desires and aspirations are limitless, our efforts to fulfill them are also becoming completely limitless. Today the youth of India are looking towards the sky to touch new heights.

The Prime Minister claimed from foreign soil that today’s India is going through an unprecedented and positive change. Reminding the expatriates, he said that you must have seen recently that India organized the world’s largest and most successful AI summit. Before that, India had also hosted a historic and successful summit like G-20 in front of the whole world.

Let us tell you that PM Modi has arrived on an official visit to Netherlands after 9 years (earlier in 2017). This visit is being considered very important in taking the bilateral relations between India and Netherlands to a new height. During this high-level visit, there is a strong possibility of serious talks between the two countries on many big and strategic issues like trade, modern technology, semiconductor, water management, green energy and defense cooperation.
