Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in the inauguration program of Batadrava Thana Redevelopment Project, today I also want to remember Bharat Ratna Gopinath Bordoloi. If Gopinath had not been there, we would not have had this part of Assam and the entire North-East India. It was Gopinath ji who forced Jawaharlal Nehru to keep Assam in India.
He further said that in Assam, the Himanta Biswa Sarma government has vacated more than one lakh bighas of land from Bangladeshi infiltrators. We will identify all Bangladeshi infiltrators not only from Assam but from across India. He said, we made peace agreements with militant organizations, 92% of the conditions of these agreements have been fulfilled.
Also said, BJP pledges to remove all infiltrators from the entire country. Was it true that there were Bangladeshi infiltrators at this place of Shankardev? I congratulate Himanta Biswa Sarma for removing the infiltrators from here and re-establishing the Namghar. More than one lakh bighas of land has been freed from infiltrators. Congress ruled for so many years, but it did nothing for those who sacrificed their lives in the Assam movement. The Congress party kept pushing the infiltrators for years and by bringing the IMDT Act in 1983, they created a legal way for the infiltrators to settle here.
