Conversely, the department forecasts that heatwave conditions are likely to persist in Central and Northwest India over the next 3–4 days.

In the Delhi-NCR region, residents are facing severe distress due to the scorching heat. According to the IMD, an alert for rain and thunderstorms has been issued for 17 states—including UP, Delhi, and Bihar—for May 27. The eastern states may witness the impact of these rains and storms. Rain and Thunderstorm Warning for 17 States

According to the Meteorological Department, an alert for rain and strong winds has been issued for 17 states across the country for May 27. Specifically, alerts for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms have been issued for several districts within states such as UP, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Tripura, and Western Madhya Pradesh.

During this period, winds are expected to reach up to 90 kilometers per hour.

Weather in Northwest India

According to the IMD, an alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds has been issued for Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from May 28 to May 30. Meanwhile,

Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh may experience changes in weather patterns between May 28 and May 31. Alerts specifically regarding hailstorms have been issued for Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana.

Storm and Rain Warning for Eastern India

According to the Meteorological Department, a spell of rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds will continue for the next several days across Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal. Should rainfall occur, a decline in maximum temperatures is also expected.

The department has issued an alert for several areas in Jharkhand and Odisha regarding strong winds, expected to blow at speeds ranging from 50 to 60 kilometers per hour. Hailstorms may also be witnessed in certain parts of Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Weather in Uttarakhand?

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rain and storms across several districts of Uttarakhand. Specifically, alerts for rain and stormy weather have been issued for Dehradun, Nainital, Haridwar, and Rishikesh. During this period, gusty winds reaching speeds of 65 to 75 kilometers per hour are possible.

Weather in Himachal Pradesh

The Meteorological Department has forecast the possibility of storms and rain in several districts of Himachal Pradesh on May 28 and 29. Alerts for heavy rainfall and storms have been issued for Shimla, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Bilaspur, and Chamba.

Rain Expected in Northeastern India

The Meteorological Department predicts light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on May 27. Additionally, heavy rainfall is likely in Arunachal Pradesh on May 27 and June 1.

Weather Outlook for Central India

Weather conditions are expected to change across Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh. According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall—accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds—may occur at various locations between May 26 and May 30.
