Weather Alert – Rainfall Predicted for North Bihar Next Week, Yellow Alert for Dense Fog in 8 Districts
Weather Alert: Most states are currently experiencing dense fog, biting cold, and a cold wave. Several states, including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, are experiencing severe cold. In Bihar, dense fog is expected to persist across most of the state for the next three to four days. While some districts in Bihar are experiencing sunshine, the biting cold persists. The cold winds are causing people to shiver. According to the Meteorological Department, similar weather conditions are expected to continue for the next three days. A Western Disturbance will become active on January 18th. During this period, cloudy conditions are expected in North and West Bihar. However, there is also a possibility of light drizzle in some areas.
According to the Patna Meteorological Centre, a yellow alert has been issued for dense fog in eight districts of the state on Thursday: East and West Champaran, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Patna will remain dry until January 19, 2026. Fog or mist is likely in the morning, while the sky will clear up as the day progresses. The maximum temperature in Patna is expected to be between 22 and 23 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may be around 10 to 12 degrees Celsius.

No rainfall was recorded across the city over the past 24 hours. The maximum temperature in the Patna Airport area was approximately 21.6 degrees Celsius, and the minimum was 10.4 degrees Celsius. In Danapur, the maximum was 23.1 degrees Celsius, and the minimum was 11.4 degrees Celsius. In other parts of the city, the maximum temperature was around 22.7 degrees Celsius, and the minimum was 9.2 degrees Celsius.

The mild sunshine is providing some relief to the people, while the nights are experiencing biting cold. Even after four days of sunshine, the nighttime temperature remains in single digits. The minimum temperature recorded in Sabour was 7.0 degrees Celsius. Sabour, along with Dehri, Rohtas, and Aurangabad, experienced the coldest nights in Bihar. The cold intensifies as the day progresses. In the morning, a blanket of moderate fog envelops the city.

According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, dense fog is expected in 19 districts of North Bihar until January 16th. Although there might be some sunshine during the day, the mornings and nights will be extremely cold.
The effects of the cold wave will still be felt in the districts of North Bihar. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for dense fog in West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Madhepura, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnea, and Katihar.
