Weather of July 14: IMD issues alert of heavy rain in Bihar-Odisha, possibility of strong winds and lightning

New Delhi: According to India Meteorological Department i.e. IMD, monsoon will be active in most parts of the country on Tuesday, July 14. Rainfall will be highest in Eastern and North-Eastern India. At some places in North India, there may be rain and thundershowers. There is also an alert of strong winds at a speed of 40-50 km per hour in some states.

Heavy rain in eastern and northeastern India   

IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in many districts of Bihar. Continuous rains will continue in Odisha also. There may be heavy rain in the Ganga plains of West Bengal. There are chances of heavy rainfall at many places in Sikkim also.

There will be rain with thunder in Jharkhand. The effect of monsoon will be strong in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There has also been a warning of heavy rain and lightning at some places in these states.

North and Central India: Light rain at some places, heavy rain at other places   

There will be light to moderate rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Heavy rain is possible in some hilly areas of Uttarakhand. There may be rain and thundershowers in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan. Rain will continue in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha also. Heavy rain is expected in some areas of East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Humidity will increase in UP and Rajasthan   

Monsoon is currently weak in Uttar Pradesh. The depression of the Bay of Bengal has weakened and the monsoon trough has shifted north. Due to this, there will be humid heat in the state for the next 3-4 days. There will be only light or sporadic rain in most areas. Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 36.9°C and a minimum of 28.2°C on Monday.

Meteorologists say that the rains may increase again due to the formation of a new movement in the Bay of Bengal. The first phase of monsoon has weakened in Rajasthan also. Most parts of the state will remain dry for the next one week. There will be less rainfall in Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions. On July 14-15, there may be light rain at isolated places in Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu. There are chances of clear weather in East Rajasthan also for 5-6 days.

Condition of West and South India  

There will be isolated rain in Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch, Goa and Central Maharashtra. Highest rainfall is likely to occur in Konkan region. In the south, there will be light to moderate rain over Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana and Lakshadweep. Heavy rain may also occur at some places.

Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema will remain cloudy. IMD has expressed fear of waterlogging, landslides and traffic disruption in areas of heavy rains. People have been appealed to remain alert and follow weather updates.
