Temperatures in eastern UP and Bihar may reach 35–40 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued a local alert for these states. It will be necessary to be careful especially in open places during strong winds and drizzle.
The weather will be hot and dry in most parts of Rajasthan. Hot winds can blow in desert areas. However, there is a possibility of light drizzle or clouds in some parts. The maximum temperature will be around 35 degrees. Meteorologists say that due to strong winds in desert areas, there can also be a danger of dust storms.
Active weather in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, heat effect in Gujarat and Maharashtra
The weather will be most active in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. An alert has been issued for rain, snowfall, hailstorm and strong winds in these hilly states. Winds can blow at a speed of 30–50 km/h in high altitude areas. Due to snowfall, those traveling on high mountain routes have been advised to exercise caution.
The temperature in Gujarat can reach 37–39 degrees. However, the possibility of light rain or thundershowers may provide some respite over northern and Kutch regions. The weather will remain hot and humid in Maharashtra, especially Mumbai and the coastal areas. The temperature is expected to be around 30–33 degrees. There may be slight increase in heat in the interior parts, but no major weather change is seen.
Humidity and heat will increase in South India
The effect of heat and humidity will increase in the South Indian states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Kerala. The temperature in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru may remain between 33–37 degrees. It may remain cloudy in some areas, but the chances of rain are less. Weather experts have advised people to drink enough water and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight during humidity and heat.
