Thunderstorm, lightning and hail are likely in other parts of the country. Temperatures will touch 36 to 40 degrees Celsius in many states, leading to heatwave. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the first system of westerly winds will become active on March 26 and the impact of the second system will start from the night of March 28. These two systems will rapidly change the climate of North India. Light rain and snowfall is likely over the higher parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh on March 26, while its impact will reach Uttarakhand on March 27.

Meanwhile, on March 28, the weather in and around Jammu and Kashmir may deteriorate again. Strong winds of 30 to 50 km per hour are expected during this period. The effects of these westerly winds will also be evident in the plains.

Thunderstorm in Punjab, Haryana

Thunderstorm and light rain is forecast over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on March 26. Strong winds are likely to blow in Delhi. Similar weather conditions are expected in Rajasthan on March 28, which is likely to disrupt daily operations and traffic. The weather in Northeast India is particularly active due to cyclones.

Heavy rain forecast in Assam, Meghalaya

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya are likely to receive heavy rains, hence an orange alert has been issued. These areas can receive rainfall ranging from 64.5 to 115.5 mm. Additionally, thundershowers, lightning and light to moderate rain are also expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
