Weather Warning – Dense Fog & Cold Wave Alert in 10 States, IMD Issues Heavy Rain in These Places
Weather Warning: Most parts of the country, including Delhi-NCR, are experiencing a severe cold spell. Dense fog and cold wave conditions are prevailing across hilly regions and northern India. The intense cold is causing great hardship for people. Minimum temperatures have been recorded below 5 degrees Celsius in 50 districts across several states. The Meteorological Department has predicted that cold wave and fog conditions will persist in North and West India until January 17.
According to the Meteorological Department, cold weather conditions prevailed in several places in Bihar and Rajasthan on Saturday. According to the weather forecast, a cold wave and dense fog alert has been issued for Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana from January 11 to 15. Weather in Delhi
Delhi is now experiencing a cold wave. On January 11, Delhi-NCR experienced bright sunshine. This led to a drop in the maximum daytime temperature, but the minimum temperature remained normal or near normal. However, there has been a sharp drop in minimum temperatures over the past three days. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for Sunday and Monday, warning of moderate to dense fog and cold wave conditions.
Rain to intensify the cold in these states
According to Skymet, a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to form over the next 3 days, and Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Marathwada may experience moderate to heavy rainfall in some areas, along with strong winds.
Weather in Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh is also experiencing a severe cold spell. A further increase in intense cold is expected in 25 districts of the state on January 11. Very dense fog is expected during this period. The cold wave will further intensify the cold.
Rain and Snowfall Expected in These States
The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert for Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Odisha, and North Interior Karnataka on January 11. According to the weather department, heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and parts of Karnataka on January 11. The weather is likely to remain unstable in these states due to the cold and snowfall.
Cold Wave Expected in These Areas
According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave and cold day conditions will prevail in many parts of Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, minimum temperatures are expected to be below normal in Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. Severe cold wave conditions are likely in several cities, including Patna, Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Jaisalmer.
In South India, a weather system originating from the Bay of Bengal is likely to bring light to heavy rainfall to the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. The Meteorological Department has also predicted cloudy skies and light rain in Rayalaseema, South Karnataka, and parts of Maharashtra.
