Weather Warning – IMD Issues 72-Hour Heavy Rain, Snowfall & Lightning Alert in 15 States Over Next 3 Days
Weather Warning: With the intensification of pre-monsoon activity, weather changes are being observed across several parts of the country. Over the past few days, rainfall has been recorded in most states. The combination of rain and strong winds has led to a drop in temperature, resulting in cooler weather conditions.
Regarding the weather in Rajasthan, a rain alert has been issued for several districts in the western part of the state for the next three hours; specifically, light rainfall accompanied by strong winds is expected in Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Sri Ganganagar. In view of this, a ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for these areas.
Rainfall Warning for the Next 72 Hours
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning indicating a likelihood of heavy rainfall in several states across the country over the coming 72 hours. Additionally, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall, strong winds, and lightning strikes in certain locations.
Warning of Rain and Strong Winds in Rajasthan:
Pre-monsoon activities have commenced in Rajasthan. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is anticipated in several districts of the state over the next three days. Furthermore, there is a possibility of light rain, strong winds, and lightning accompanied by thunder in certain areas.
Delhi Weather Update
The impact of the pre-monsoon season is also being felt in the national capital, Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a likelihood of significant rainfall in Delhi over the next 72 hours. During this period, strong winds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour may prevail.
Warning of Heavy Rainfall in These States:
The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several states across the country. Warnings regarding rainfall have been issued for numerous states and regions, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar.
Warning: Lightning, Storms, and Hailstorms
Along with rainfall, there is a possibility of strong winds, dust storms, and lightning strikes in several regions. Some areas may also witness hailstorms.
Weather Forecast for the Hill States
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad on March 26 and 28. Rainfall and snowfall are likely in Himachal Pradesh on March 26. Meanwhile, isolated light rainfall may be recorded in parts of Uttarakhand on March 27.
Weather Forecast for Bihar and Bengal
The Meteorological Department forecasts that light to moderate rainfall may be recorded in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim until March 27. Additionally, there is a possibility of rain in Bihar on March 26 and 27. Jharkhand and Odisha may also witness rainfall on March 27 and 28.
