Weather will change in Maharashtra for next 5 days, alert of storm, rain and hailstorm
Once again the weather has taken a turn in Maharashtra. While on one hand the effect of heat was increasing, on the other hand the sudden change in weather has increased the concern of the people. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of rain, strong winds and hailstorm for the next 5 days in the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain with thunder and lightning is likely to start in many parts of the state from March 30, the effect of which may last till the first week of April. There is a possibility of heavy rain and hailstorm especially in Central Maharashtra and Marathwada regions.
Today, rain with thunder and lightning is expected in Nashik, Ahilyanagar, Beed, Latur, Dharashiv, Solapur, Sangli and Kolhapur districts. There is a possibility of bad weather in many areas of Pune, Satara, Khandesh and Vidarbha.
Rain may continue in many districts of the state on March 31 also. Hail warning has been issued in Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Ahilyanagar, Beed, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani and Hingoli. Apart from this, there is a possibility of hailstorm in Nashik and Jalgaon also.
The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain and thunderstorm in most parts of the state on April 1. There is a possibility of cloudy sky and rain at many places on April 2, while the weather is expected to gradually clear after April 3.
During this period, farmers have been advised to take special precautions, because the time of harvesting of Rabi crops is going on. The Agriculture Department has appealed to the farmers to keep their harvested crops in a safe place or cover them with tarpaulin, so that there is no damage due to rain and hailstorm.
The Meteorological Department has also appealed to the people not to go out unnecessarily during bad weather and to remain alert to avoid incidents like lightning.
