New Delhi, 25 March. Due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, problems are gradually arising for other countries and India is also not untouched by this. In this sequence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given statements in both the houses – Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha during the budget session of the Parliament and now the government has officially called an all-party meeting to discuss the changing situation and India’s strategic response.
This meeting is to be held at Parliament House at 5 pm on Wednesday and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will preside over it. The main objective of this meeting is to demonstrate political unity and send a message to the world that India is completely united in the face of serious international crises.
Home Minister Amit Shah and Foreign Minister S. Apart from Jaishankar, House leaders of all major opposition parties are likely to be present in the meeting. Through this dialogue, the government aims to take the opposition into confidence and formulate a common national strategy regarding the conflict. In this sequence, PM Modi has also directed the formation of a group of ministers and secretaries to work dedicatedly to deal with the situation arising due to the West Asia conflict.
Rahul Gandhi is not attending the meeting
At present, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi told reporters in the Parliament House complex that he will not be able to attend the all-party meeting as he has to attend an event in Kerala.
Earlier, the Congress had hit out at the Prime Minister, saying his statement on the crisis was a ‘pre-prepared speech, full of self-praise about the achievements made in the last 11 years’. In view of the oil and LPG crisis, the opposition today gheraoed the Parliament complex against the Central Government and the opposition leaders held placards in their hands and raised slogans against the Modi government.
