West Bengal Election : Calcutta : Amid election frenzy in West Bengal, Congress activist Debdeep Chatterjee was allegedly beaten to death in Asansol. After this incident, senior Congress leadership, especially Rahul Gandhi (Rahul Gandhi), by Mamata Banerjee (Mamata Banerjee) has raised serious questions on the functioning of the government and his party.
Congress activist Debdeep Chatterjee has been murdered in Asansol, West Bengal after the elections. According to local sources and the state unit of Congress, Debdeep Chatterjee was campaigning with Congress candidate Prasenjit Puitandi from Asansol North. The Congress has alleged that immediately after the polls, people associated with the Trinamool Congress attacked him and brutally beat him up, resulting in his death from the injuries sustained.

Rahul Gandhi calls TMC “Gundaraj Sarkar”
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has strongly criticized the TMC over this incident. He wrote on social media that “Gundaraj” (Government of goons) is going on in West Bengal instead of democracy. According to Rahul Gandhi, it has become a hallmark of Trinamool Congress to intimidate, kill and eliminate dissenting voices after the polls.

Rahul Gandhi said that the violence that took place immediately after the polling day exposed a very alarming pattern of political vendetta and retaliation. In his post, Rahul Gandhi said that the violent methods used in Bengal to suppress dissenting voices are extremely harmful to a healthy democracy. Referring to the tradition of his party, he said that the Congress has always chosen the path of the Constitution and non-violence.

Demand arrest of the culprits and compensation to the families
While paying tribute to the late activist, Rahul Gandhi also presented his demands to the administration. He demanded that all those responsible for the murder of Debdeep Chatterjee should be arrested immediately and given severe punishment. He also demanded that the government should provide full security to the victim’s families and ensure adequate compensation.
