West Bengal government becomes stricter on infiltrators, no free biryani, now there will be direct deportation

After the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power in West Bengal, major changes are being seen in the security policy of the state. The government led by Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari has taken the toughest stand so far against Bangladeshi infiltrators. After the policy of ‘Detect, Delete and Deport’, now the state government is preparing to implement it in a more aggressive manner.

"No need of holding center, go directly out of the country"

BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya has made the government’s strict intentions regarding infiltrators more clear. He has urged Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari to send illegal immigrants back to their country directly instead of keeping them in holding centres. Bhattacharya said bluntly, "There is no need to feed such people free food even for a single day in India. My message is clear—such people will not be fed ‘free biryani’ even for a day." BJP clearly believes that India is not a dharamshala, and illegal immigrants will not be allowed to live here under any circumstances. Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari had announced this policy during a program on May 20, taking strict steps in the interest of security and national interest. He clarified that every suspected infiltrator caught by the police will be immediately handed over to the Border Security Force (BSF). All infiltrators falling outside the scope of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will have to be detained and undergo the process of deportation. The BJP state president also added that if someone has to come to India, he will have to follow the legal process, otherwise the game of infiltration will no longer work in Bengal. Government in action mode: First ‘Detect, Delete and Deport’ center in Malda The government is not just making paper announcements, but work has also started on the ground. The first ‘Detect, Delete and Deport’ center has become fully operational in Malda. According to reports, foreign nationals caught on charges of illegally entering India are being kept in this centre. Under CCTV surveillance and tight police security, the infiltrators will be kept here till their deportation. This step is a living example of the state government’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards illegal immigrants.
