Sukhendu Shekhar Roy attacked TMC

Senior TMC leader Sukhendu Shekhar resigned from his Rajya Sabha post and left the party. In his resignation letter, he blamed Mamata Banerjee’s 15-year rule for the party’s defeat and praised the BJP. Rajya Sabha Speaker C. P. Radhakrishnan has accepted Sukhendu Shekhar’s resignation.

After the resignation, Sukhendu told the media, “Many people in the party were running the party arbitrarily, that’s why he resigned. Sukhendu Shekhar’s Rajya Sabha seat is from West Bengal and his tenure was till 2029. This seat has become vacant and now a by-election can be held.”

Rebel MLA Ritabrata Banerjee said, “Sukhendu’s statements are mostly correct. This is not just Sukhendu’s personal matter. I have not spoken to Sukhendu directly, but I have seen and heard his statements on TV. I agree with him. Sukhendu’s statements about the functioning of the Rajya Sabha are mostly correct.
