Surrender of West Indies batsmen

West Indies had a very bad start while chasing the target of 163 runs. Brendan King, who scored a brilliant half-century in the last match, walked out after scoring only 5 runs. After this, Evin Lewis also could not show anything special with the bat and returned to the pavilion after scoring only 7 runs. Dunith Velalage was also successful in trapping Roston Chase in his spin net and he went on without opening the account. After this, Dunith also sent Andre Fletcher to the pavilion on the score of just 4 runs.

Sherfane Rutherford also could not handle the faltering innings of West Indies and became the victim of Aslanka after scoring 14 runs. Captain Rovman Powell seemed set at the crease after scoring 20 runs in 17 balls, but Pathirana showed him the way to the pavilion by getting him caught by Kushal Mendis. Within no time, the entire West Indies team collapsed for just 89 runs. In bowling, Dunith Velalage from Sri Lanka took 3 wickets while spending only 9 runs in 4 overs. Whereas, Mahish Pathirana and Asanka took two wickets each.

Nissanka added color with the bat

Earlier, Pathum Nissanka batted brilliantly for Sri Lanka and played a strong inning of 54 runs in 49 balls. Nissanka hit 9 fours and one six during his innings. Kushal Mendis scored 26 runs in 25 balls, while Kushal Perera scored 24 runs in just 16 balls. Kamindu Mendis scored 19 runs in 14 balls, due to which the Sri Lankan team, batting first, scored 162 runs losing 5 wickets on the score board in 20 overs.
