What is the whole controversy?

Actually, West Indies cricket team has to play a 2 test match series with Pakistan cricket team at home. This test series is going to start from 25th July, while it will end on 7th August. The first test of this series will be played in Tarauba (Trinidad) from 25 to 30 July. The second test match of this series will be played in Port of Spain from 2 to 7 August. Controversy has already arisen before this.

West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, who had fully recovered from injury, was included in the squad for this series. He refused to play the series against Pakistan after being selected in the team. West Indies Cricket Board had earlier told that Joseph has refused to play due to personal reasons. Now the team’s head coach Darren Sammy has given a surprising statement on this. He said something very angry in the press conference just a day before the match.

Sammy gave a big statement on the whole controversy

Darren Sammy said that ‘This is a big loss for the team. Mr. Joseph has refused to be selected in the team. He has recently recovered from injury and has taken this decision. This is a decision which is beyond their understanding. He leaves the matter to the Board of Directors to resolve the situation as to how contracted players can refuse selection.

Sammy further said, ‘We will perform well even in the absence of Alzarri Joseph. Our bowling attack is very strong. We have a lot of bowling options like Shamar Joseph, Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, all-rounder Justin Greaves and Keemo Paul, who can perform amazingly in home conditions.

In the two-Test series starting against Pakistan, West Indies have the option of Jomel Warrican, newcomer Joshua Bippash and captain Roston Chase in the spin department, who can take 20 wickets for the Pakistan team. Let us tell you that 27-year-old Alzarri Joseph has so far taken 130 wickets in 42 test matches for West Indies. He is the main bowler of the team in all three formats.
