‘I am one of those six victims’
Vinesh Phogat said that earlier she did not want to reveal her identity in this case, because the matter is still pending in the court. She said that the guidelines of the Supreme Court say that the identity of any victim should not be revealed, because it is a matter related to her dignity and respect, but today due to some circumstances I want to tell you something. I did not want to say anything till the case is pending, but I want to say that I myself am one of the six victims who had filed the complaint and our testimony is still going on. The whole truth will be revealed before the country. But I want to tell you that I am one of the six victims who had filed the complaint.
Vinesh said that it is very difficult for a female player to play in such circumstances. She said that it is very difficult for a woman to compete in such a situation, and every player who has faced such a situation can understand it.
‘Maintain the honor of the country’s tricolor’
Vinesh posted the video on social media and said, Hello to all of you. As everyone knows, I was away from the wrestling mat for the last one and a half years. But now I have been preparing for wrestling for a few months. I am working very hard and honestly. Just like I won medals for the country earlier, with the blessings of God, with the support of all of you, I should again go on the wrestling mat and win many medals for the country and maintain the honor of the country’s tricolor.

Question on conducting trial in Gonda
Vinesh Phogat revealed that the biggest reason for revealing her identity is WFI’s decision to hold ranking tournament and trials in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. Actually, ‘Senior Open Ranking Wrestling Tournament’ (WFI Senior Open Ranking Wrestling Tournament) is going to be held in Gonda. He alleged that this competition is being organized in the private college of Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, from which it is difficult to expect a fair competition.
He said that about a month ago, a competition was announced by the Wrestling Federation. Where is this tournament being organised. That is Gonda UP. Where Brijbhushan’s house is. He has his own private college and this competition is being organized there. Every hardworking player there will get his due, it is very unlikely, almost impossible.
Serious allegations were also made against the wrestling association.
Vinesh claimed that even though Brij Bhushan does not hold an official position, he still has influence on the federation. He said, ‘Who will be the referee in which match, how many points will be given to whom… all this will be controlled by Brij Bhushan and his people. And the government and the sports ministry remain silent spectators. No one is coming forward to help the players. It seems as if Brijbhushan has been given a free hand to do whatever he wants. Whether you do something with female wrestlers or you do anything with the wrestling world. We stand with you. I don’t think that the weight of all the hardworking players will be checked properly and the real result of their hard work will be visible on the mat.

Vinesh is preparing to make a comeback after a break of about 18 months after the Paris Olympics 2024. However, he said that it will not be easy to play at full capacity in such an environment. He said, you can imagine, it is very difficult to go to their area, go to their college, where everyone is associated with them, go there and play in such conditions. Even after that, I don’t think will I be able to go there and give my 100 percent. If any untoward incident happens to me, my team or my supporters during the competition, the Government of India will be responsible for it. He also appealed to the media and sports world to be present at the competition venue to ensure transparency.
