What can be done during Ramzan to break the fast?

It is mandatory for every healthy and adult Muslim to fast during Ramadan, the holiest month of Islam. The real purpose of fasting is to control oneself and worship Allah, but often due to lack of information, people make some mistakes due to which their worship remains incomplete. Experts say that along with fasting, it is equally important to offer Namaz five times a day because fasting without Namaz is not considered correct.

According to Shariat, there are some strict rules during fasting which are necessary for every fasting person to follow. If someone intentionally eats or drinks something, his fast is broken immediately. Additionally, intentionally vomiting, inhaling steam, or administering a drip to the body that quenches hunger and thirst invalidates the fast.

What to do if a mistake is made?

If the fast is broken due to compulsion or unknowingly, then it has to be ‘Kaza’, that is, after Ramzan, the fast for the same number of days has to be observed again, but if someone has broken the fast intentionally, then he has to give ‘Kaffara’.

Kaffaara means repentance or punishment. For this, the person will either have to fast for 60 consecutive days or feed 60 poor people. Along with Kaffarah, Kaza of that broken fast i.e. one fast has to be kept separately.
